history of google

Google's founding and history.
Google is a multinational technology company that specializes in internet-related services and products. It was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were pursuing their PhDs at Stanford University in California. The two had met in 1995 and had been working on a search engine called Backrub, which used links to determine the importance of individual web pages.
In September 1997, the company was incorporated as Google Inc. and began operations from a garage in Menlo Park, California. The name "Google" is a play on the word "googol," which is a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros.

The company quickly gained popularity due to the accuracy and speed of its search results, as well as its simple and uncluttered user interface. In 2000, Google introduced AdWords, an advertising platform that allowed businesses to place target

ed ads alongside search results. This platform became a major source of revenue for the company.
In 2004, Google went public with an initial public offering that raised $1.67 billion and made many of its employees millionaires. The company continued to expand, acquiring companies like YouTube, DoubleClick, and Android, which helped it become a dominant force in the technology industry.
Today, Google is one of the largest technology companies in the world, with over 135,000 employees and offices in more than 50 countries. Its products and services include the Google search engine, Google Maps, Google Drive, Google Photos, the Android operating system, and the Chrome web browser. The company also operates the world's largest online advertising platform, which generates most of its revenue.
